With numbers down 84%...
how long before the Lesser Sand Plover is extinct?

If you visit the beach this Christmas season, look out for the Lesser Sand Plover.

Because I don’t know how many more years you’ll be able to see it in Australia.

Over the last 24 years, its numbers here have plummeted 84%.

Slowly, steadily, silently…Along with many other Migratory Shorebirds.

This Silent Shorebirds Crisis can’t continue.

Otherwise many Migratory Shorebirds will become extinct.

Gone forever… but this does NOT have to happen.

Your gift this Christmas goes towards urgent action to save Shorebirds like the Lesser Sand Plover.

Because the state of the Shorebirds is an emergency, BirdLife will hold the Shorebirds Crisis Summit in 2016. Your support helps to:

  • Develop an actual on-ground action plan to save Shorebirds
  • Fight for a government commitment to no net loss of Shorebirds habitat
  • Incorporate an international approach to Shorebirds conservation

But we can’t rely on government funding to implement the new plan.

That’s why I need your help urgently…

So we can fast-track the rollout of the plan.
